How this page is builtWe hold each broker's own list of the countries it will not serve, so "accepts you" means "does not exclude you" - not a promise your application will be approved. Local regulation is read from the licences each broker publishes. Both lists are in rating order, and brokers holding no licence at all are left off entirely.

Not one of the 97 brokers we rate holds a licence from a regulator in India. Every option on this page operates from somewhere else - most commonly Cyprus, Australia, the United Kingdom, Mauritius, Belize or the Seychelles.

That is worth understanding rather than panicking about. It means your client agreement is written under foreign law, a complaint goes to a foreign authority in a foreign language, and local consumer protection does not reach the firm holding your money. It also means the leverage on offer is set by whichever regime the entity sits in, which is why traders in countries without a local regime are routinely offered 1:500 and more.

The practical response is to look harder at the regulator behind each broker than a reader in London or Sydney would need to. A tier-one licence held somewhere else is worth considerably more than an offshore registration held nowhere in particular, and the difference is visible in the badges beside each broker below.

Funding an account from India

1 of these brokers record UPI among their funding methods. A domestic transfer is usually same-day and free where an international wire is neither, so it is worth more than it looks when two brokers are otherwise close.

Check the withdrawal routes as well as the deposit ones. They are frequently not the same list, anti-money-laundering rules generally require funds to return the way they arrived, and the difference only becomes apparent at the point you want your money back.
